Editorial standards

How we research, rate and report.

Market Wise Guide publishes independent comparisons and financial education. These are the principles that govern every piece of content we produce.

Our standards

Editorial independence is the foundation of this publication. Our aim is to provide accurate, unbiased and genuinely comprehensive information about financial markets and trading platforms. Advertisers and commercial partners do not direct, review, or approve our editorial content before it goes live. What you read reflects the judgment of our editorial team, not the preferences of the companies we write about.

We also give risk its proper weight. Our educational content is written for investors who need straight information, not reassurance. Every guide and review includes clear risk context.

Review and ranking criteria

Each platform we assess goes through a structured process covering more than 50 data points. No single factor dominates; every category contributes to the final score. Our key evaluation areas are:

  • Regulation and availability. We prioritise brokers regulated by top-tier authorities such as the FCA, ASIC and SEC, and we confirm which regions each platform actually serves.
  • Fees and spreads. We examine commission structures, spreads, inactivity fees and withdrawal costs in full. Real trading costs matter more than headline rates.
  • Product range. We record which asset classes are available: stocks, ETFs, Forex, CFDs, options and more.
  • Platform tools. We test the performance of desktop and mobile applications, charting capabilities and execution speed under realistic conditions.
  • Risk controls. We assess negative balance protection, stop-loss functionality and any risk alert systems the platform provides.
  • Education and research. We consider the quality of integrated market news, educational webinars and built-in analysis tools.
  • User experience. We evaluate account-opening friction, the quality of customer support and how intuitive the interface is for newcomers and experienced traders alike.

Scores are assigned by the editorial team. A commercial relationship with a provider does not improve its rating, and the absence of any relationship does not penalise one.

Correction process

We hold ourselves to a standard of 100% accuracy. When we discover an error in our content, we correct it without delay. The correction is noted in the article with a brief explanation of what changed and when.

Readers who spot something inaccurate are encouraged to write to us directly at info@gomarketwiseguide.com. We take every report seriously and respond promptly.

Keeping content current

Financial providers change their terms, fees and product offerings on a regular basis. We update our reviews periodically to stay in step with those changes. That said, no publication can react instantaneously to every change, so we always recommend verifying the details you care about directly on the provider's official site before making any decision.

Publisher note

Markets and platforms evolve quickly. While we update our reviews regularly, conditions at any provider can change between review cycles. Confirm fees, availability and terms directly with the provider before acting on anything you read here.

Funding and affiliate relationships

Market Wise Guide is a publisher. Some of the companies we review pay us a referral fee when a reader clicks through and opens an account. This commercial arrangement may influence which providers we feature and where they appear on certain pages. It does not shape our editorial assessments, our risk warnings or the data we report.

Sponsored content and paid advertorials are clearly labelled as such. They are kept separate from our independent editorial work. The opinions expressed in sponsored sections belong to the sponsor; they do not represent the editorial views of Market Wise Guide.
